Pune: LinkedIn India Hiring ROI research has revealed that 7 in 10 recruiters in Pune are investing up to 70% of their hiring budgets in AI and tech-driven solutions to recruit more efficiently and effectively.
As the demand for quality talent rises, recruiters are shifting away from speed-based hiring to prioritize quality of hire, now cited by 83% of Pune recruiters as the primary metric of hiring success, according to the LinkedIn India Hiring ROI research.

The LinkedIn India Hiring ROI research study, based on insights from over 1,300 HR professionals across 10 cities, finds Pune recruiters are redefining what quality means – with 44% prioritizing transferable skills over traditional qualifications.
AI-powered hiring tools are helping accelerate decision-making, enhance candidate targeting, and enable skills-first recruitment strategies.
“AI tools are enabling Pune’s recruiters to strike the right balance between skills, speed, and cost,” said Ruchee Anand, Head of Talent Solutions, LinkedIn India. “With increasing pressure to deliver results, technology is empowering recruiters to make smarter, more strategic hiring decisions.”
Key Findings from LinkedIn India Hiring ROI Research:
- 67% of Pune recruiters are already using AI-powered hiring tools
- 65% leverage data analytics to optimize hiring strategies
- 54% say AI has boosted efficiency, while 51% see improved skills-first outcomes
- 87% plan to use personalized content and insights to improve candidate engagement
- Recruiters in Global Capability Centres (GCCs) cite talent scarcity and competition as major challenges
Across India, industries such as IT & Technology, Healthcare, and Manufacturing are adopting AI at scale, with:
- 71% in IT using AI screening tools
- 74% in IT leveraging data analytics
- 60% and 75% in Healthcare, and
- 58% and 62% in Manufacturing, respectively.
